We had a FANTASTIC Lobby Day at the Capitol yesterday. We had a great presence from our educators in Douglas County (active and retired) as well as our Denver Paraprofessionals and Food and Nutrition Service Employees. Despite the Senate AND the House adjourning early, we were able to speak with quite a few Senators and Representatives throughout the morning and afternoon.
I wanted to thank everyone who came out yesterday. I know it is hard to take the personal time to do work-related things, so we greatly appreciate it. I know Lobby Day can seem like an arduous or pointless task, but we have three new members who have agreed to testify in committee, so I would have to say it is not! I cannot stress enough how important it is to have legislators hear from their constituents and those affected by the laws they are voting on.
