Big Win in State Court of Appeals for MSFF
Print E-mail

You’ve seen it in the email to all faculty; you can read all about it on Colorado Confidential—the win in the Colorado Court of Appeals, along with its instructions to the District Court, indicate that MSCD faculty with tenure under the previous handbook have retrieved their tenure, that faculty who have received and will receive tenure under the new handbook will have a genuine, rather than merely apparent, tenure.  With benefit of this new affirmation of tenure, we must protect what the Appeals Court decision grants by continuing to organize and press for a union contract that protects all our colleagues and that works for real economic rewards.

We must use this decision to press for real reform in the Handbook, including the procedures for its updating in the future.

We must take the security of real tenure and the freedom of the academy and speak up for decent salaries and working conditions for all of our colleagues.  A decision is only paper until we make it real.  We can and will make the decision a reality on campus through our legal and organizing efforts.
